2260.03 Equal Employment Opportunity

Personnel hiring and administration by CESA 5 shall be conducted so as not to discriminate against an employee or applicant on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, race, national origin, ancestry, color, age, creed, religion, marital status, disability, arrest record, conviction record, military participation, use or non-use of lawful products off the employer’s premises during nonworking hours, declining to attend a meeting or to participate in any communication about

religious matters or political matters or any other reason prohibited by state or federal law.

It is the intent of CESA 5 to comply with both the letter and spirit of the law in making certain discrimination does not exist in its policies, regulations and operations. In keeping with the requirements of federal and state law, CESA 5 shall strive to remove any vestige of discrimination in employment, assignment, and promotion of personnel. The Agency Administrator/designee shall notify applicants for employment and employees of Agency nondiscrimination policies and established complaint procedures.

This Policy 2260.03 addresses complaints regarding discrimination in the employment context. Complaints regarding the interpretation or application of this policy shall be processed in accordance with the established procedures. If the matter involves concerns of sex discrimination against employees, students or other individuals under Title IX in programs or activities of the Agency, the individual should refer to Policy 3365, Policy 5365, and/or contact the Agency’s Title IX Coordinator:

All complaints of discrimination received under this Policy 2260.03 will be investigated in a prompt and thorough manner. Complaints and their resolution will be kept confidential to the extent possible. If it is determined that discriminatory conduct has occurred, the Agency will take all appropriate action necessary to end the discriminatory conduct and to prevent such conduct from reoccurring. This action may include discipline up to and including termination of employment.

Complaints of sex discrimination against employees, students or other individuals under Title IX in programs or activities of the Agency should be filed with the Agency’s Title IX Coordinator, whose contact information is above.
