The agency is committed to reducing workplace injuries and illnesses and controlling workers' compensation claims and costs. An effectively managed workers' compensation program will (1) reduce workers' compensation claims costs, (2) reduce the cost of training temporary workers, and (3) promote and hasten the recovery of an injured employee.
There are three components of a comprehensive workers' compensation program:
1. Efficient investigation and reporting of all work-related injuries
2. Implementation of a systematic temporary modified duty program
3. Effective coordination of agency and workers' compensation benefits
The agency shall develop, implement, and communicate processes that include these workers' compensation program components.
